Have used the plugin for some time. Not working. I see one slide, and a different one each time I reload. Same result with Chrome, Opera, and Explorer browsers. I deactivated all other plugins, and except for a discouraging afternoon, accomplished nothing. Using WP 4.9.5.

  • Hi @krinaker,

Usually when this happens it’s because the webpage is having some errors with Javascript. Can you check the developer console for such an error?

    https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-do-i-open-my-browsers-developer-tools/

If it’s empty, then it’s usually a minifying plugin that is causing the issue. Many of the outdated plugins that manipulate WP scripts wont work properly. Let me know if this helps, thanks.

    Greetings kbatdorf, and thank you.
I found this in my developer console:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1 jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.4.1:2
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) /wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/RWBY:1

I’m guessing that’s an error message. Is it what you thought I might find? How to I proceed?
My plugins claim to be compatible with current WP, except for one called Social Share. Current update for Social Share not tested with current WP yet, so I haven’t upgraded, but the version I have isn’t that old . . .

    Hi @krinaker,

You probably will have to figure out what is causing that error. I would try to disable plugins one by one to try and figure it out.

I don’t know whether I even have a minifying plugin or not. Is there a way to identify which plugins minify? Last time I did the disable-the-plugins I had a tough time getting them reactivated. I’d like to minify the debugging and repair process if possible. Thank you.

    Hi @krinaker,

Can you share a link to your website?

This is the metaslider, not sliding. https://www.jliacademy.org/wp/jlihome/

    Hi @krinaker,

The link helps. Can you confirm you have Print CSS and Print JS enabled in the settings for that slideshow?

    (@krinaker)

    Yes. Also “no conflict mode.”

Something is stopping the CSS and JS files from loading. My first guess is Jetpack. Can you disable that and see? Can you share a list of plugins of it still doesnt work?

    (@krinaker)

You guessed right. I had Jetpack 6.0 installed. There’s an upgrade now to 6.1. Would kind of like to have both plugins. Advice?

Jetpack has some individual features that you can enable /disable. You could try to just disable features to see which one. Others use our plugin alongside jetpack, so the issue might even be a conflict with jetpack and another plugin (and MetaSlider is the side effect).

If you can figure out which single feature is not working, you can disable it and add an alternative plugin to fix it.

    .

    Hi @krinaker,

I’m going to mark this as resolved as we didn’t hear back, but please feel free to comment or open a new issue if needed, thanks!
