Metaslider only works when page is refreshed

It’s hard to say. Do you have a caching plugin installed? The slideshow worked for me on the first try so maybe it’s something specific with your browser?

Two other people had the same problem. I’m using safari, but they’re using something different. I’ll find out what it is. What is a good caching plug-in to use? I’ll add that today.

For testing make sure the caching is disabled. But for caching in general ANy of the top ones you see in the WP plugin directory are good.

For JS minification though I would recommend Autoptimize:
