The metaslider image/container adjusts for a splitsecond when loading/reloading the page which causes a visual jump.

    How can this be fixed?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @tstech

Under advanced settings can you turn off the option to fade in the first slide? Not sure if it will help or not though.

Can you try it with autoptimize disabled too?

pro-tip; you can disable Autoptimize on a per-request basis by adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL ??

    hope this helps debugging,

Hi, thanks for the quick response!

First I turned the “fade in” off when the page is loaded and then I used the link: https://weldadvice.dk/?ao_noptimize=1

Unfortunately neither helped as you might be able to see.

    Hi @tstech

If you switch to Nivo Slider does the same thing happen? I’m thinking maybe this has to do with how Vantage makes that section full width.

Can you also add the slideshow to a page not built with Vantage? Same issue?

It makes a jump in a different way when I use the Nivo Slider.

It’s not fully wide for a splitsecond when I use the Flexslider.
The entire page also jumps in height at the same time.

When I use the Nivo Slider:
It moves up the entire footer from where the metaslider is and down while the metaslider appears in a splitsecond.
    The image quality is worsened.

All of the above is using a normal wordpress block page. And the slider has been added through “wp-admin>pages>settings>slider”. The “stretch slideshow” is checked here but not in the “wp-admin>metaslider” settings.

I do not know how to add the slideshow to a page not built with vantage but I added it to a page not built with siteorigin blocks.

    Hi @tstech

Was there an improvement on the page built without the siteorigin blocks?

Could you switch themes to a default wp theme for a few seconds to see if that fixes the issue?

    Hi,

    There was no improvement unfortunately.

I would really prefer not to do that. I’m not sure what would happen to my child theme and such.

    Hi @tstech

Hopefully it would be fine as themes and plugins are supposed to non-destructive. However, another option is to install your theme and the plugin on a throw-away site like https://poopy.life/

    (@tstech)

Okay. I made a poopy.life page, installed the theme, and added the slideshow to it.

    Hi @tstech

Thanks for setting that up. This appears to be happening because vantage loads their own version of FlexSlider styles and scripts. Try to disable Print CSS and Print JS on MetaSlider setting’s page to just let the theme use its own custom implementation. Let me know if that works.

    Hi ??

I’ve done that now but I’ve also checked smart crop so the image is not like everywhere.
    What do you think?

    Hi @tstech

Can you use one of the other crop settings? If you want to manually crop images you can also do it from within WP. If you completely disable the cropping from MetaSlider we use the image directly from WP. Does that help?

    Hi!

Okay right yes. I’ve been trying out a bunch of different combinations of image sizes and metaslider settings and it seems that with the right image ratio and with “stretch 100 % wide output” checked both in page slider settings and in metaslider settings it might work. I’ll use some time trying to find the right match to see if it works now.

I’ve been trying for a while now and I can’t get it to work. The glitch is still there.

I think the solution is to download another slider. I’ve downloaded smart slider 3 and everything seems to work out perfectly for now.
