I have an issue with the Display of the Event Metadata (Venue, Date, Price…) using the Avada Theme:

If I enable Gutenberg in The Events Calendar Settings:

    • Metadata displays on the Frontend,
    • but the Event Details block in the Editor is MISSING and can’t be edited

If I disable Gutenberg in The Events Calendar Settings:

    • No Metadata in the Frontend, none of the Styling like the header image+Info etc
    • But the Event Details block is back in the Editor and I can add the Metadata

I mainly use the Avada Backend Editor and like to keep it that way. Switching Gutenberg on is not really an option, since the Avada backend & live Editors are completely unusable that way (gives a “no content” notification, Navigator empty).

    I tried:

    • Changing the css style (skeleton and themed) and changing the template in The Events Calendar Settings. There is no visible change at all.
    • Getting the metadata with dynamic content, shortcodes or Avada Element blocks. None of this is possible. The Event Blocks only work in Gutenberg. I’d prefer to get the metadata as raw data somehow, so I can build it into my Avada event layout myself, anyway…

    Tech details:

    • Avada pro 7.9.1
    • php 8.1.14-he.0 (maybe that’s an issue?)
    • WP 6.1.1
    • The Events Calendar 6.1.1 + Tickets

  • Hi @antiart

    Glad you reached out.

Nice catch with the PHP version! Yes, the plugin is not fully compatible with PHP 8.1 at the moment and may produce errors. Please review our guides on PHP requirements and the efforts on PHP 8.1.

There are also some known glitches with Avada that may still need to be addressed but let’s start with the PHP version and go from there.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Best,
    Rob
