metabox counter and seobar counter out of sync

Another issue I have come across is that the counter in the metabox and the counter in the seobar seem out of sync with each other.
On one of my sites I have enabled the filter that removes the sitename from the output. The reason is that for this specific site I add the sitename to the title myself.
So let’s have a look at the following example.
Custom Post Type SEO metabox my title:
SO Multisite Dashboard Feed Widget plugin by SO WP
Both the counter and my test editor agree that this title is 50 characters long. Your counter gives me the green light.Now when I go and have a look at the overview of all custom posts, this very same post shows that a T with an orange background color, informing me that the title is too long.
This makes everything very confusing and I would most likely then just want to disable the entire SEO bar as it doesn’t add anything.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?
