I recently installed the PublishPress Authors plugin and only want to use it to display a second author. So I have disabled the custom author page and use my own template for that. I noticed that the meta title of the page disappeared, even thought I haven’t enabled the PublishPress Authors page. I have another plugin for SEO installed, for controlling page titles (SEO SIMPLE PACK). When I disable the PublishPress Authors plugin, the title reappears.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @crnacura

    Thanks for using PublishPress Authors.

Does PublishPress Authors deactivated at the moment? Since I could see the meta title:

    Hi Riza,

thank you for looking into this, I appreciate it! I have deactivated it because of the title issue, yes. How could I go about debugging this?

    Thank you

@crnacura Do you might know how to reproduce this issue? I install SEO Simple Pack and PublishPress Authors, but I still could see the meta title on the archive page just fine.

    Thanks,

@rizaardiyanto Thank you so much for having a look at this!

I have enabled the plugin again and you can see one of our author pages here: https://tympanus.net/codrops/author/crnacura/ The name of the author is missing in the title of the page but not the blog title. When I disable the SEO plugin, the URL is shown instead as title. I’m really not sure what’s happening, maybe I’m missing something in my theme? Thank you

@crnacura That could be since I could not see this issue. What theme you are using?

Thank you for taking a look @rizaardiyanto

Our theme is a custom theme. Do you have an idea where I could start troubleshooting? This only happens on the author pages. Is there anything in the plugin that overwrites the title of the default author page? Thank you for your insights.

Determining the starting point for this investigation is challenging without direct access to the site. Unfortunately, direct site access is a feature exclusive to Pro user support.

Maybe you could start checking by temporarily change to another theme and see if the issue persists.
