Meta Title from Page is not used

    Hi,

    we currently changed from yoast to seo framework and still use betheme. In BeTheme SEO Fields Meta Title and Meta description texts are included, which we use.

    While SEO Framework correctly displays the text from meta description, it ignors the texts from meta title field.

    Text in BeTheme:
    Meta title: Stra?enbelag wie neu? Schlaglochsanierung mit REpatch von Vialit
    Meta description: Schlagl?cher reparieren, Asphaltsch?den auffüllen: dauerhafte und wirtschaftliche Schlaglochsanierung mit dem REpatch-System von Vialit

    Text in SEO Framework:
    Meta title: REPATCH – Vialit
    Meta description: Schlagl?cher reparieren, Asphaltsch?den auffüllen: dauerhafte und wirtschaftliche Schlaglochsanierung mit dem REpatch-System von Vialit

    Is there an option that Seo framework also uses the Meta Title information?

    Hi @paulamann,

    I advise you to transfer over (copy+paste) the BeTheme SEO meta settings to The SEO Framework’s, and then disabling BeTheme’s SEO capabilities after. For instance, now, you have undesired and duplicated meta description tags outputted.

    TSF has designated fields for SEO meta titles and description. They are available on every public post type, like Pages and Posts. TSF automatically uses what’s available from your WordPress installation to generate them for you, too. To top it off, TSF uses those fields in many different (future) applications, like rich data for Articles.
    As a bonus, because it’s open source, they also allow for easy transportation between plugins, might you decide to ever switch again.

    When you disable minification of the source, you’ll clearly see what TSF does.
    TSF is now outputting the following:
    Meta Title: REPATCH – Vialit
    Meta Description: Wirtschaftliche maschinelle Schlaglochsanierung

    Although it’s possible to use filters, it’s best to use the user interface — it’s far more stable.
