Meta title
-
I have configured SEOPress global settings for meta titles. So whenever I now post a new blog I see in grey that the correct Meta title is selected, but at the bottom it says “No custom title is set for this post” with a red cross icon in front. Why is this bad? Because when I enter the exact same title manually SEOPress says it’s good.
So 1: Is it still as good even if I leave it as it is and ignore the red cross icon
and 2: if question 1 is correct, shouldn’t SEOPress reflect this with a green checkmark icon instead?——————–
I would also like to point out that the Meta title and Description checks on posts are not checking the actual characters, but only what is set in the designated fields. For example. I’ve put 1 letter in the Excerpt, than used “%%post_excerpt%%” in the designated field for the Meta Description. I used “%%post_excerpt%%” 10 times in a row. The Meta check at the bottom marked it as too long because it exceeded the 160 character threshold, but in reality (as I could also see in the google preview) only 10 characters are being shown.
It’s actually not that big of a deal, but for quality of life updates, you might want to see if this can be improved to make your plugin even better.
