    WP 4.5.2
    TSF 2.6.5.1
    WOO 2.5.5

This one is a bit odd. I’m running WooCommerce, and was looking at my realtime analytics today and noticed a user was going through a bunch of mydomain.com/shop/page/4, /5, /8 etc. I believe this is a built-in permalink in WooCommerce, even though I’m not using it/have defined it (my permalink option is to use product/sample-product/ and not shop/sample-product/ in the WordPress Permalinks Settings).

Regardless, I go into there myself, and I noticed right away that there’s the old problem of the meta-title being the first product on the page. What’s even weirder, is the meta-description is for a product that’s not even being shown on that page. Other pages while browsing /shop/page/x/ seem to have matching Title/Description from the first product on the page, in a way I can’t easily understand.

I >think< this might be related to the problem I brought up a while ago where the same thing was happening on main Category/Tag/Taxonomy pages, but got fixed back then too. My guess is the SEO plugin doesn’t know what “context” the /shop/page/x pages are occurring in so it’s reverting to some default behaviour.

Let me know what you think or if you need any more information.

    Hi cdensch,

That’s indeed how WooCommerce intended it (the page flow you’ve seen a user go through).

I confirmed that the shop page is not correctly recognized and it’s seen as the home page. This only happens when the WooCommerce shop page is not assigned to an actual (existing) page.

I’ll have it fixed as early as tomorrow :). Thanks for notifying me!

Hah, I wonder how common that scenario is of leaving Shop undefined. I’d put so much work into my other front end that I hadn’t bothered.

For those keeping track at home, that’s roughly a 2 hour turnaround on answering a question. I’d like to see any other plugin (free OR paid) match that!

    Hi cdensch,

Have you checked out if the option name “Shop Page” found in the first link below [1] is the same as the option name “Front page” in the second link below [2]?

    1. WooCommerce Products Display Settings
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-settings&tab=products&section=display

    2. Reading Settings Front Page Display Settings
    /wp-admin/options-reading.php

I have a feeling you are using a special page builder or theme that overwrites the Home Page, even though the settings in [2] tells otherwise.

If they’re the same, please consider making them different, as of now the page ID’s currently overlap. This will cause all kinds of issues, including the ones described above.

    Thanks!

    Hi cdensch,

As I couldn’t pinpoint the root cause of the issue as of yet, the 2.6.6 release doesn’t resolve the issue you’re facing.

However, the 2.6.6 update might have resolved the pagination title issue. As another related bug has been resolved.

If you have anything more to add, feel free to do so!

Thanks and have a great day! ??
