Meta Display

I can’t seem to get the meta I’ve created for custom taxonomy terms to display in my template using nc_tax_meta($term_id,’field_id’). Tried both text field and editor field for the meta setup – the content contained in the field is a shortcode for a photo gallery, but have also tried displaying just some plain text and that won’t display either.

I need the field to display on the archive page for the term. Using multisite, if that makes a difference. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
