    I have imported my settings to smartcrawl from Yoast SEO.

    When i checked the pages i seen that the meta title was %%page_title%%…

    the title showed the code rather than the actual page title. As a result I have had to go back to using yoast for this. is there a way to sort this?

    Hey @supplementgenie,

    Hope you’re well.

    Is that possible to provide some extra information? Can you let me know which version of Yoast and looks like it should be %%title%% for Yoast side but are you using %%page_title%% for that area in Yoast?

    Cheers,

    the Yoast plugin uses both. it has %%page%% and %%page_title%% but it seems to only populate the relevant one and leave what might not have an associated value, blank.

    In my question, i only put a snippet to give an idea.
    The whole meta title would infact be along the lines of:

    %%page_title%% %%sep%% %%title%% %%sep%% %%site%%

    and when smartcrawl imports these, that is how it is displayed, no data is populated

    Hope that helps ??

    Hey @supplementgenie,

    Hope you’re well.

    In our tests, we try that placeholder for Yoast 7.0, 7.8 and 8.0. But none of them works correctly. When we try this;

    It only executes %%sep%% and %%title%% parts like this;

    So is it different for you? Is it working for your site fully?

    And still, I couldn’t get which version of Yoast are you using, if it’s different than we test we can try on that version too.

    Hi, sorry ive been away and unable to check back here.

    Issues are still the same as far as I can see.

    For example when snmartcrawl imports data from yoast (most recent free version)

    My meta description only does the command and not the required information

    Ie %%site%% should show – supplement genie. But instead when accessing the website via any browser it shows %%site%% and not the site name.

    The same is true for all tags – %%sep%%, %%page_title%% etc

    Hey @supplementgenie,

    Hope you’re well.

    Can you check my previous reply? The problem is the placeholder you use is not correct for Yoast too. Like I indicated in my previous reply this won’t work for Yoast too;
    %%page_title%% %%sep%% %%title%% %%sep%% %%site%%

    Maybe it doesn’t show the not working placeholder as text like Smartcrawl does, but they are not working too. Only %%sep%% %%title%% %%sep%% is working. Also you can check from Yoast site https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/

    There is no placeholder like %%page_title%% or %%site%%

    Can you delete not available placeholders and try again?

    Cheers,
    Oguz

    Sorry,

    %%Page_title%% should be %%title%% and %%site%% should be %%sitename%%

    But gives the same problem as mentioned in first issue question

    You’d mentioned this was a known error, had the plugin been updated to resolve this error?

    Hello @supplementgenie

    Hope you’re doing well!

    I see there has been some progress with fixing this issue but it is not included in the latest release of the plugin. Based on this, a fix will be included in a future version.

    It is important for us to fix this issue in a best possible way, so we really appreciate your patience.

    Kind regards,
    Nastia
