I’ve been wondering why my SEO crawler program shows so many “missing description”-issues although we have written descriptions and automated most of the descriptions through Yoast SEO. I’ve been looking around these pages (for example https://www.sovelto.fi/yritys/ ). It truly seems like even though we add a description through Yoast SEO and it even shows on the source code, crawlers like (https://metatags.io/) or Google Search, don’t show the description. The description on the example page has been added manually through the page editor meta data field of Yoast SEO plugin.
Where is the problem? Is there maybe a plugin that would be incompatible with Yoast or is there a bug in Yoast?
I’ve added automatic descriptions to most pages with %%excerpt%%. Could this change somehow block the handwritten descriptions?
The last option seems like the likeliest as I have the same issue at another domain where I made the same change through Yoast SEO.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi! Same problem. Yandex Webmaster does not see a description of more than 700 products, but they are there and registered manually. Interesting answer
