Meta description template not being used

    Hi,

    I have set a custom meta description in rank math for my Woocommerce product pages but it isn’t being used, instead the “product short description” field is.

    How can I get Rank Math to override Woocommerce setting the meta description?

    I have managed to get the meta description to display what Rank Math has set by using the following code https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#use-global-meta-description

    However, on the backend in the Rank Math preview/edit field, it still shows the “product short description”.

    Anyway around that?

    Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Sorry to disappoint but that feature is unfortunately not available at this time.

    The filter will only change the description on the frontend as it is a PHP filter.
    In the backend, we use JavaScript to generate the description.

    With that being said, there are existing feature requests, so I’ve added your vote to our internal suggestions lists. If your suggestions are something that we’re able to introduce, I’ll be sure to let you know.
