Hello,
I have an issue with the meta description, I don’t know if it is a bug or a setting I can disable.

In Google, a search result of a product category page, the meta description of the first result(product category page) has the Title of the category (Search keyword) followed by image alt text ( has part of the search keyword), followed by the product category description.

In my Settings, I set the default meta description to be %excerpt only% for the product categories but I don’t think it’s working.

In one of the categories I inserted manually content in the meta description field, several days have passed but Google keeps showing the layout I explained above.

Is there anything I can do, so the meta description is the product category description, without the names of the images and so on?

Hello,

Here you can see the google results. I underline the name of the image.

Also yesterday, I changed the alt text and the title of the image with something more readable text but nothing changed in the search results. yet.

This is the yoast settings. the meta description it was empty at the start so i thought that this is the problem, so i want and added the excerpt only as value.

NOTE: in settings, I set the title separator as a bullet point but you can see in the search result it has a dash

I tried different things but nothing changed so far.

Thanks for the screenshots. If you have made changes to SEO title, meta descriptions, view the page source to confirm your changes are reflected.

If the changes are reflected in the page source, then the Yoast SEO plugin is working as expected.

Have you?added your site to Google Search Console? Then, you could?request indexing?so Google can update their index.
