    Hello,
i’ve noticed there is no meta description displayed on my portfolio article in the wordpress admin. The field seems empty. I’ve checked the page code, and i can read : “<meta property=”og:description” content=”Objectif : Renforcer la cohésion d’équipe.

If i try to write a description, when i save my changes, i come back to the article page without any change… field is still empty. And description on the code page still the same.
That’s the same on all pages of my website.

Is there a bug with my WordPress website ? With the Avada builder ?

    Best regards

    Hi @jpbond

Thanks for using Yoast SEO and reaching out to us. We understand the meta description is not showing within the Yoast metabox, and within the source code, you notice an og:description meta tag. We apologize for the confusion and can certainly understand how this would cause some uncertainty. We’re happy to clear this up for you, so let’s get to the bottom of it.

I checked the source code of the page and noticed that the og:description field, which is outputted within the page, is from other plugins or from the theme that you are using. The Yoast SEO outputted meta tags are outputted before the comment line <!– / Yoast SEO plugin. –>

In your case, it’s outputted just after the Yoast SEO meta tags, so we recommend you to perform a conflict check to find out which plugin or theme is outputting this og:description tag. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

We look forward to hearing from you and are happy to help you.
