I updated to 3.03 and now Meta title and description are missing.

Under “content analysis” it mentions meta descr as “No meta description has been specified” but there’s no way to for me to add/edit it. Its gone.

I emailed support, but their answer was useless. Basically said to search the knowledge base, which I’ve done and not found the answer.

You need to either clarify where/how to edit the Meta Descr or else update this version to include a clear location for that editing (like the prior version had). This is why I hate updating plugins! It was better before! Just go back to what it was!

  • I found the hover to discover fields but can not “edit” the contents, when I click on the pencil icon all contents of the field disappear so i would have to retype the entire entry even if I merely want to correct one typo.

This update is appalling and really needs to be reconsidered. A couple of updates appeared very quickly giving an initial impression that they were on top of the problems but very little seems to have changed and since then nothing!

I have rolled back to the version prior to the V3 update and will give a while but it seems inevitable that I shall be looking for an SEO plugin that works. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have the same problem. When i add new products, the meta description, title etc. will not save. After saving it is reseted. In 3.0.2 it works. But in 3.0.3 not.

I use the text tab on visual editor. There are missing the format icons since 3.0.3.

The meta description for Images ist correct. But Yoast SEO means there are no images.

Whoever thought of changing the meta description to the snippet thing was grasping at straws to make a chance just for the sake of change. It doesn’t even make sense to do it this way. It now grabs my disclosure which is at the top of every page.

Also every since I updated my permalinks show up as numbers. I keep changing the setting so they won’t and it works once and reverts back.

I tried rolling back to a previous version and it didn’t change a thing.

I had to delete Yoast SEO and I am in search of another plugin.

When are they going to learn that if something isn’t broken to leave it alone!

The Snippet editor still doesn′t work for me in Firefox (42.0). Can′t edit anything – even after emptying all caches. It works in Chrome, but I don′t want to switch browsers. Hope for Plugin Version 3.0.4…

Barnez – you are my hero! I’m been trying to figure this out for the past 2 days!

In the Yoast module you now need to use the Snippit Editor located at the top. If you hover the mouse in the right hand end of each field (page/post title, slug, meta description) you’ll see one of those pencil icons appear. Click on it and the field becomes editable.

This is easy to use but should give some tooltip over there for the beginners

It is once you get the hang of it. I haven’t tried since they did the update yesterday so let’s hope there aren’t more glitches.

Thank you Barnez! Like many, I was lost too. Well, I don’t know who is STUPID?!

    Thank you @Barnez

    You star, Barnez! Thank you!

I simply it was one of the finest plugin but now its not any more in my point, lots of my website and customer are facing issue and I have to migrate their metas and description from yoast to another plugin.

    Thank You Barnez

The Description works but still unable to set the Home page title tag. It really frustrating; not sure why the interface was changed.

Can anyone recommend another comparible SEO plugin

Thanks, this post saved my sanity.

Not impressed with the change, what was wrong with it before?

I’m also after an alternative to this plugin if anybody has any suggestions, willing to pay for the plugin.

    Thanks for this post!
