Meta Description is blocked

    We have parts of our site blocked for members only, but I’ve noticed that when I created a post in Facebook with a link to a page or even the site in general – the meta description or even excerpt doesn’t show in the post. It just says “The content is restricted to site members…” Even our home page does this and it’s not blocked. How do I allow at least the description of the page to show when posting to Facebook since our site and Facebook group work in tandem?

    It probably has to do with the way your theme is producing content in those areas. The plugin does not block post meta fields (such as meta description) nor excerpts (via the WP function the_excerpt()). But of those items are generated via the_content(), then if the content is blocked, that would result in what you described.

    There’s not enough information for me to tell you exactly what the issue is or how to correct it, but I would suspect that it is based on the relationship between how your theme is pulling the content and the filters the plugin hooks into the block content.
