    Hello,

We were working on a multi-site installation.

We have a problem with the display of Title and meta description which are not taken into account when changing it.
We don't know where it could come from.

We have updated the meta description and title, but the updates are not taken into account in the front nor in the html code of the site.
This displays the old meta description and title,
We have cleared the cache but nothing helps.

    Do you have a solution?

    Can you help us please?

    Cordially

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We understand that the title and meta description you entered in the Yoast SEO is not being updated in Google search results. Whereas Google typically uses the title and meta description from the page’s metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. Google will sometimes modify or ignore the title and meta description when it sees fit, as well as sometimes adding the brand or site name to the end of your title. This is not due to the plugin not functioning as expected, but rather is due to Google using another value for the title and meta description that it indexes, as its algorithm has concluded that there is a better version to index.

We imagine you’re concerned with whether Google is actually able to see the current information. You can check that by using the URL Inspection Tool, which shows you a page as Google sees it. We suspect Google is not having any trouble reading the content on your page. Instead, the title and meta description are being rewritten automatically depending on the query. Here is a great resource from Google on this issue.

If you still have questions or concerns, we recommend requesting help in the Google Search Central Help Forum.

It is not at the level of google, that we do not see the modifications, but at the level of the meta description and title updates, when we update the page.

    Thanks for the feedback.

For context, can you provide sample URLs and screenshots of what you have entered in the Yoast SEO plugin? You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

    Thanks for the help

    We are in multisite networks,
    So we clone our websites.

When we create the page, we enter the necessary information, and we also enter the canonical URL of the page.

But here, as soon as we publish the page, no changes are made.

And the canonical url of the page has disappeared and is therefore not taken into account.

The url of the site which is entered: is not the correct one, how can we modify this?

This problem is recurrent on other sites that we have

    Thanks for the helpful screenshot.

Please uninstall the Yoast SEO Premium you currently have and install Yoast SEO 16.7 on the site. Next, try to add the canonical URL and modify the title and meta description again. Does it work? Let’s know how it goes.
