    Hi,
I enter the meta description of the main page with Yoast. When I see the source code of the page, another metadescription is added to the Yoast metadescription. This added meta description is an old one I had, but it should not be there as I do not enter it in Yoast. Is this a bug?
    Thanks

    Hello @fmeneuhe

I’m sorry your meta description doesn’t reflect when you view the page source. Can you please try again and ensure you save the page?

If the problem continues, please provide the URL of the affected page and a screenshot of what you entered in the Yoast SEO plugin. You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi,
    my website is https://cuadernodelprofesor.com
    Look at the screenshots:
The meta description is entered in the Yoast plugin, and of course the page has been save:
    https://snipboard.io/hipWel.jpg

The source code shows an extra description added to the Yoast meta description, and I do not know where it comes from:
    https://snipboard.io/SftsmP.jpg

But I assume that only should be displayed the text I entered in the Yoast meta description and anything else.
    This is a bug right?
    Thanks

    Hello @fmeneuhe

Thanks for the screenshots. However, I viewed the page source and see only one meta description. See screenshot. You can also search and confirm.

That’s it, this is the meta description in the source code.
You can see on the screenshot I attached above, in the the Yoast plugin, the meta description has only this text:
“Cuaderno de notas digital, para profesores y maestros hecha por un profesor. Evalúa rápidamente y ahorra tiempo. ?Descárgatela gratis!”

But in the source code contains:
“Cuaderno de notas digital, para profesores y maestros hecha por un profesor. Evalúa rápidamente y ahorra tiempo. ?Descárgatela gratis! Cuaderno de notas digital para profesores, profesoras, maestros y maestras. Te ayudará a evaluar más rápido. Una app para Android”

There is an extra text that should not be displayed, right? It should be displayed only the meta description from Yoast, right?

    Hi @fmeneuhe,

Can you please go to Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > General > Homepage and check whether you have added any meta description?

I have checked all the extra met description on Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > General > Homepage, all of them empty.

@fmeneuhe I see what you mean! Due to the language barrier, it didn’t occur to me that those were two sentences in the meta description. Please share two new screenshots:

    1. Edit the homepage and take a screenshot of what you have entered in the meta description field
    2. Go to WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Content Types > Pages > Meta description

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the screenshots, @fmeneuhe. I still can’t determine where the wrong meta description is coming from.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

Thanks you @maybellyne, it worked! I find out the plugin which was doing the problem and I fixed it!
    Thanks a lot
