Meta description 2? Is it useful for users?

  • Hi,

    in a home page I have put meta description using Yoast SEO plugin. This home page is made merging different files. It’s not editabile directly from pages.

    I have checked on 2 browser and browser extensions for SEO don’t see that meta description.

    Screaming frog sees it as “meta description 2” leaving empty “meta description 1”.

    On Google’s SERP I haven’t seen my customized description.

    So it’s seems that it isn’t so clear.

    In the source code at row 7 there’s
    <meta name="description" content="">

    At row 31 there’s

    <!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin v1.5.2.8 - https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ -->
<meta name="description" content="...the right description is here..."/>

    It seems that it is preferred the meta description at row 7…
