    Hi,
we noticed that our meta title and meta description got lost, this is for a certain time we cannot say exactly how long this is.
All pages were optimized with title and description, but this is gone now and we do not know why.
    Yoast Version is 12.3

Is there a chance to get the “old” data back” ?
And what is the reason for?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @cessayr

We noticed you have an older version of the Yoast SEO free plugin whereas the latest stable version is 15.2.1. We’re sorry to know that your SEO data was lost recently.

Actually, we do not provide support for older versions of our plugins. Also, we do not recommend using outdated versions of WordPress, including (our own) plugins, for the reasons covered in?this article. Therefore, we’d recommend updating to the latest versions.

Your settings are automatically saved during the update process. Before making important changes on your website, like updating WordPress or your plugins, it is always a good practice to create backups.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. Because there are absolutely no information stored in the meta fields, where did they go?
As you noticed, we haven’t made updates, what means that they cannot disappear without any reason!

Is there a possibility to get the meta title and description back?

    Hi,

Yoast stores all the data in the database. As long as the database is stable the data is expected to appear. wp_postmeta in the WordPress Database is where meta descriptions, focus keywords, SEO title are stored.

We also know the plugin has specific database requirements. This guide explains more:?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/plugin-requirements/.

We can only suggest contacting your host provider and verifying the database hasn’t changed and meets requirements and taking a look at the wp_postmeta to ensure the data is still present.
