meta data for search engines?

hello.
i’m using wordpress to display a video file as the main content in a post. i use a meta data key for a description of the video which i use on-site for searching. (i’ve been using the search everything plugin, which has been great!)
however i would also like this information to be searchable by google. is this possible? if i make a permalink with a video and print the key value on the page as well will the search engines see all that?
