    Hello,

I have read all the other threads to this problem and none seemed to work for me. The Meta Box Yoast description that used to appear on the side of my posts while I was editing has disappeared. I am also missing the readability analysis as well. I have confirmed that all settings in Yoast are correct and enabled/deactivated/reinstalled the plugin. The only thing I haven’t done is check for javacript errors because I did not understand how to after reading about it. I understand this may be the issue, but I’m not very tech savvy so if someone could help me fix this issue I would really appreciate it!

    Thanks in advance,
    Kiteen

I did some more research into checking for javascript errors and believe I found that is my issue. It states there is an “unexpected token error” – I have a screenshot, but am not sure how to paste it into this forum so let me know if you’d like to see it.

Now my question is, what does this mean and how do I fix it!?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

That error means that Yoast is in conflict with something else on the page. We use the computer language called JavaScript to create that Yoast SEO Metabox. Another plugin or theme is also using JavaScript on that same page to create something else. If the JavaScripts don’t play nicely, errors result.

In this manner, we ask that you please perform a conflict check using this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts?. This well help narrow down where the conflict is occurring.

If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO (like you had mentioned before) or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/ for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium here: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
