If you are using a language other than english this plugin is a mess and it is not for you. The main page does not show up “yousite.com/events/” on first run because the word events is translated in the sites language. Not a very good impression to begin with.

You have to translate the word “events” from your language back to english to make the calendar show up but then every instance of the word “events” in your site’s language will show in english. Who thought of translating the slugs is beyond me.

After that whenever you create an event/venue/organizer all the corresponding slugs are created in english but all the links for them are created in the translated language so every link created by this plugin is incorrect and shows a 404 page again.

So overall not a very useful plugin if you are using a language other than English.

    Update:
After digging around on the events calendar forum found some workarounds:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/

But still there are some slugs missing even with the workaround. For example the slug /events/month, /events/list, etc. are translated and there is no workaround for it. You will have to translate to back to English.

Be warned: there is no direct support for users that bought the PRO version. You still have to post to the forums and hope for the best.
