Messing up with domain name
-
Hi! I have tried to change the name of our site from .com to .org (we are non-profit), and I have followed the steps in https://wpengine.com/resources/change-domains-wordpress.
I changed the domain in the General>Settings section, and wanted to follow with editing the Htaccess file via FTP (host: https://www.eremorupecava.com). However, the message I received from Filezilla was:
Status: TLS connection established.
Command: USER *******
Response: 331 User ******* OK. Password required
Command: PASS ***********
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
(the credentials are correct, and of course trying https://www.eremorupecava.org does not work). The situation now is that the site https://www.eremorupecava.com shows a (scrambled) welcome page that I cannot access; if I try https://www.eremorupecava.com/wp-login.php the page asks for credentials, but after providing them the url changes instantly to https://www.eremorupecava.org/wp-login.php and the browser does not find it.
I made a backup of the site via e-mail, but I do not know how to restore it.
Can anybody help me?
