messed it up- WP is displayed strangely, cannot log in

    i just installed WP 2.7, it worked out fine. I logged in as admin and installed Lightbox 2.0 and the theme freshy2. after uploading, the page won’t load properly anymore: no design, only showing the custom-post.
    Anyone knows what to do?

  • Both your style.css and lightbox.css show html content. And there is mention only for the default theme, but no css. Odd.

    If you cannot log in, delete the lightbox plugin and the freshy2 theme directly from your server. This should reset WP to the normal Default theme, and you can go from there.

    It looks like something went wrong when you uploaded the files, like it didn’t get everything or some files ended up in the wrong place. The page is displaying as though it had no CSS file. I noticed it’s trying to call kubrickbgwide.jpg as a background image, too, which ought to be part of the default theme, not freshy2.

    Try deleting the themes in your /wp-content/themes directory, then uploading them again.

    Since you just installed it, if nothing works you can always delete the whole thing, clear your MySQL database, and start over. Unless of course someone who knows more than me has a better idea!

    Hi, I noticed you have your blog in the wordpress directory, but your link above goes to your url root, if you have an index.html in the root, try either renaming or deleting it so that its not auto discovered.Also you could delete the lightbox plugin as buddha trance
