Messaging and select drop-down fields

Hi, A couple of queries:

1. Is there a way for people who have registered for an event, to post messages, which can be viewed and responded to by the admin?
2. Can we have a select drop-down in the registration form? This is since our events will have registrations from selected organisations and we would like them to select their organisation from a list which can also be edited by the admin.
