    Hi,

Several of the sites we manage sent this Sucuri message:
    Message: Plugin activated: Auto-Updater

I have not activated this plugin, and my clients have not either (they don’t have admin access).
It is done by localhost, so maybe it is done by their hosting provider?
Is this something I should worry about?

can’t find anything through google… So hope you can tell me more!

    Thanks!

Just noticed: the maker of the plugin seems to be the hosting provider, I have contacted them about why they think it is a good idea to install and activate a plugin without consulting us about it!

Hello @omniafausta sorry for the confusion.

As you already found out, Sucuri —the maker of this plugin— is a subsidiary of GoDaddy Inc. which I assume is your client’s hosting provider. The company’s decision to install and activate the plugin by default may be part of an on-going campaign to improve the security of all the websites that GoDaddy serves.

I will let the GoDaddy Support Team answer your question.

Marking as resolved, feel free to re-open the ticket if you have more questions.
