    Hi,

I just activated the MonsterInsights plugin, followed instructions. And with basic html skills was able to check if the Google Analytics code had been added. I found this message:

<!– This site uses the Google Analytics by MonsterInsights plugin v 6.2.0 – https://www.monsterinsights.com/ –>

<!– Normally you will find the Google Analytics tracking code here, but the webmaster disabled your user group. –>

    <!– / Google Analytics by MonsterInsights –>

I am not a technical person, so please explain the easiest way to fix this.

    Thanks so much!

There is nothing to fix. As the message says, MonsterInsights excludes logged in site administrators from tracking by default, to prevent site owners from skewing their own demographics data in Google Analytics. You’re all good to go. If you’re trying to inspect the output of the GA tracking code, you’ll need to do so either logged out or via your browser’s incognito/private session browsing mode.

    Not a problem!

    Just volunteering my opinion here:

“Normally you will find the Google Analytics tracking code here, but the webmaster disabled your user group.”

this appears as something has malfunctioned, not that the code is disabled intentionally for better reporting

    what about something more like

“Normally you will find the Google Analytics tracking code here, but your user group is excluded from the results to give more accurate reporting.”

@chriscct7, +1 recommendation to @byronyasgur’s suggestion of clarifying this error. I thought I had banned a user group from using the plugin entirely, or had a file permissions error. Thanks for your response here though, very helpful.

We’ve changed the entire wording of this message already for our next major release ??
