    Hello

    Can any one offer some advice on the following please?

    We have set up the post smtp plugin as we have on other sites but this time have the warning messages below.

    Postman is not configured and is mimicking out-of-the-box WordPress email delivery.

    Message From Address cannot be empty.

    The test email sends successfully.

    Any help appreciated.

    Let me know which mailing service you are using with Post SMTP ?

    Please Share Post SMTP Settings > Account tab and Messages tab screenshot.

    @lemondropcreative Goto Post SMTP Settings > Message tab and add the email and name, then test it and let me know.

    Many thanks for the reply, sorry I had not added that.

    The postman now says it is configured but I get the error below when sending a test message:

    Connection timed out

    You need to talk to your Hosting support about this; Your Email Ports are unavailable, so share the report with the Hosting support and then let me know the support response.

    Hello, thanks again for your help.

    I contacted the mail server provider and they said:

    Port 587 is available on the Zimbra platform, all email account are working as expected.

    Not sure if that helps really as the connectivity test says it is open but not available.

    Goto Post SMTP Tester here, fill in the required details and your email account details, and then test it and let me know the results.

    Settings:

    Select Host: Custom SMTP

    Add your Outgoing Server, Your email Port, and select TLS.

    and then fill all other details , test it and let me know.

    Hope all is well there.

    That works, the email is delivered with the message: This is just text for testing.

    I have tried again from the wordpress site with the same settings and get the message:

    Could not open socket Your hosting is blocking the connection, contact their support

    Hi @lemondropcreative ,

    Thanks for getting back. It seems clear that your SMTP settings are good, but the service is being blocked on the hosting level for some reason which you may have to request them to resolve it for you.

    The other option for you is to try some other SMTP service like Sendinblue, which may be an easy way get things resolved on your end.
