Merging with a static sidebar

I have added a new seperate sidebar called authors without the plugin, now when i add widgets to the sidebar author they show perfectly, if i create a sidebar with CAS and add the condition of the author, then handle it with either a merge or replace, or even force replace the sidebar still does not show up

Ok i seem to think that its not the issue i first mentioned, i think its to do with the Author and how it recognises the author, help with this would be much appreciated thank you

So for some specific authors, you want a content aware sidebar to replace/merge with your “author” sidebars?

Can you tell me the exact settings you are using for the sidebar in question?

I have created a new sidebar called Chris Wareham Sidebar, I hav added a new group and attached “Authors” “Chris Wareham” to the condition, then saved it.

I then kept the exposure as singular and archive, Handle was set to merge with Author page sidebar, and merged it at the bottom.

Which would be the best way to send Admin info to you please?

I think you are right about the problem is that Content Aware Sidebars – and thus WordPress – might not know that specific page is an author page. WordPress has some internal flags (in this case is_author) that determines what type of content a page is, and Content Aware Sidebars rely on those.

I guess you are using a plugin to make use of the “listings”? That plugin might have some other (or none?) flags that are not compatible.

If you append this to your url (I have not made a clickable link because I do not know whether you actually use this page or not):
/author/chris-wareham/
the is_author flag should be detected

You can create an admin user for jv [at] intox .dk and I will take a look at it.

I am not using any plugin for the listings, this is built in functionality with my theme, feel free to take a look around it, i have created you a new user, jv can you confirm you have received an email with login details

Thanks for the account. I have now taken a look at the site, and because dashboard is not a Custom Post Type or Custom Taxonomy, and because the theme does not apply the is_author flag on the dashboard pages, your use case is currently not supported.

Right now, there are three things that can be done:

1. The theme author sets the is_author flag on the dashboard pages.
2. A custom module is made for Content Aware Sidebars so that it integrates better with the theme.
3. If you contribute with a translation for Content Aware Sidebars, you will become a Beta Tester of the upcoming Premium Bundle, where you can set URL conditions (e.g. /dashboard/listings/chris-wareham or dashboard/*)

Thank you Joachim for your reply and solutions, i am no expert at coding and i would require a dev to fix this for me, how difficult is it to use the is_author flag in my template page? are you also able to quote me a price on this.
