• Hello, I’m currently using (2) different themes for my domain that includes two separate WordPress installs. I’m trying to streamline everything and I feel like there MUST be an easier way.

    Current setup:

MyDomain.com/features (contains a WordPress install with one blog theme with WooCommerce)

    and

MyDomain.com/Music (contains another WordPress install with a video-share theme and BuddyPress)

What I’d like to accomplish, if possible…

MyDomain.com (That includes both themes working together (on different pages) and sync the Blog Posts, buddypress user profiles, videos and woocommerce.

    Is this a pipe dream?

  • No, it’s not a pipe dream, but I don’t think it will be easy. It depends on BuddyPress and WooCommerce support of the theme you settle on. You should first settle on a theme choice, then export/import from one site to the other site. I probably would create an entirely new site, with a theme that has WooCommerce and BuddyPress support, then import everything into the new site.

Thanks, I have a theme that supports both Buddypress and woocomerce – which is great as itis really nice and responsive (paid)

However, the other theme is very light on features and I would love to do with out, however, it has a unique ability to allow users to upload their videos directly from video platforms like YouTube via URL. This is option is imperative.

Perhaps my question should be; How can I get the video upload feature on my nice, responsive blog theme. Then, simply export/import the buddypress data over.

hmmm…this is NOT impossible, however I think your best bet would be to ask the developer of your “new” theme. Ultimately, you may have to hire someone, but it most likely is not an extremely difficult task. If that is the case you could try finding someone to help you at https://jobs.wordpress.net/
