After updating to 4.0, the plugin is no longer recognizing the List fields I have associated with my list.

My list has 2 fields: Email and Name

On Production the plugin sees both of them and the form works.

On local & staging, after updating the plugin, it only sees “Email”. Even after clicking the renew lists button, I know it’s connected to Mailchimp properly because it has the # of subscribers correct and everything else.

Even when I remove “name” form the form and re-add “Email” the error log tells me:

[2016-08-09 16:12:34] ERROR: Form 916 > MailChimp API error: 400 Your merge fields were invalid.

The merge lists never changed. The only change is the plugin update.

    Thank you

    Hi Chris,

Ugh, sorry to hear this happened after updating the plugin.

So on production everything is working correctly and the name field is fetched correctly, but on staging & local it isn’t? What happens if you go to MailChimp for WP > Lists and hit the “Renew Lists” button?

If you look through the lists overview on that same page, clicking on your list name should expand an overview of what fields are on your list. Does the name field show there? (In other words: is it only not showing on the page where you edit your form perhaps?)

    Thanks in advance!

Clicking “renew Lists” did not change anything. The field list everywhere within the plugin (“Your MailChimp Account” and “Edit Form”) both show just the “Email” field as the only one associated with the list.

When I revert back to plugin 3.1.6, the Name field returns and the form works.

    Hi Chris,

I was able to replicate the issue for lists that have only an EMAIL and a FNAME field. I will look into this in more detail right away and push out a fix later, but a workaround for now is to add another random field to your list and then click the “Renew Lists” button.

    Hi Chris,

This is now fixed in the development version of the plugin, we’ll be pushing out an update shortly.

If you (or others reading this) are in a hurry then please note that you can always download the latest development version of the plugin here.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread but I am seeing this error also.

I have Version 4.0.11 of MailChimp for WordPress, v. 4.7 of WP and here is what i see:
[2016-12-19 19:49:45] ERROR: User Sync > Error subscribing or updating user 4: Bad Request. Your merge fields were invalid.
    – USERNAME : Please enter a value
    – PASSWORD : Please enter a value
    – CONFIRM : Please enter a value

This comes from my error log when I try to do a manual sync.

    Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
    Jim
