    Does anyone know how to instigate a merchant (site owner) email from the system? I was under the impression from a previous question on this forum that the system did this, but apparently it doesn’t.

    I understand that a PayPal order will generate an email to the site owner, which is OK I guess, but nothing happens if a manual order is completed.

    Can anyone help?

    This was never designed that way. Manual payment was designed keeping in mind that it will be for physical product. However, you want it for digital product, fair enough.
    I need to change the code to support this.

    If I understand this thread correctly… I too am looking for an answer to whether the plug-in notifies the merchant of a purchase(?). I don’t see an option/setup for this in the admin.

    n.showket, thanks for being responsive to previous poster.. but I’m afraid I don’t understand your response.

    We are selling physical products, but never received a notification from system that the sale occurred… We had a recent sale (buyer contacted us because they got no confirmation either), otherwise may not have noticed it for a while.

    However, I did update and still do not see merchant notification in the settings.

    dwbone, the last post from Niaz in that link you added in your post above pretty much answers your question. There is no ‘setting’ as such, just a cc’d copy of the PayPal customer ‘notification’ email. This last point is important as you will not get the notification for an order using the manual payment option. In my view this is a fundamental shortcoming of the plugin because there is no point in accepting orders if you (as the merchant, or site owner) don’t know about them! I argued long and hard with Niaz about this but in the end I gave him some money to create this functionality for me as I needed to get my client’s store up and running. You will no doubt have to do the same if you want merchant email notification for manual payment orders.

    have to say that’s rather disappointing… I really appreciate the true simplicity of the plug-in, but “manual payment” seems something that ought to be built into the plugin… it’s little like building a car without a gas tank, or rather the tank only holds regular gas but you have to upgrade the tank to hold unleaded… kinda thing…

    anyway, I see that n.showket has built it into the upgrade, so i guess I’ll be paying for that.

    Yes, you’ll get the manual payment option when you buy the “pro” version (WpShopcart) – I don’t have a problem with paying for that – but there will be no merchant notification email for manual payment orders. Strange but true … ??

    Merchant email is part of the manual payment now.
