Merce multisite sitemap

    Hi, I have a multisite installation of wordpress in this way

    mainsite.com
    mainsite.com/subsite1
    mainsite.com/subsite2

    Everysite genereta his own sitemap_index.xml. I would like to merce sitemap for google, is correct to place an xml file in home with 3 links like this ?

    mainsite.com/sitemap_index.xml
    mainsite.com/subsite1/sitemap_index.xml
    mainsite.com/subsite2/sitemap_index.xml

    If you have multiple children sites in your multisite WordPress installation, you’ll need to have separate Google search console properties and submit the sitemap separately.

    Yes, you can submit the subsite sitemaps to the main Google Search Console profile as long as you want to track the subsites as part of the main site.

    If you want to track the subsites separate from the main site, you will need to add each subsite as a separate profile in Google Search Console and then submit the appropriate sitemap to each profile.
