• Hello everyone,

My organization recently had a problem with our databases on our website. We now have the databases in order, and all the content is where it should be, except for the site menu. No matter how many times I change the site menu in WordPress, I get text that says could not insert item into database, and the menu goes back to what seems to be the default. Has anyone come across this issue before?

Thanks for reading and any possible help.

  • I’ve heard of this happening with a few ‘site builders’ and the themes they produce.

You are running something called ‘Elegant Builder’ which I can’t even find anywhere but that might be the culprit or the database entry for the menu items might not be set right.

My suggestion would be to deactivate that plugin and switch to a default theme such as Twenty Seventeen and see if you can edit and save the menu then.

If that works then you can then switch back to your current theme and see if the menu is there as you saved it.

From there you can reactivate that plugin and test again.

If that doesn’t work then it’s your database still slightly broken.
