3.5 Menus Broke – Not A Code Guy AT ALL

  • My drop down menus have stopped working since installing 3.5. Tried the pluggins disable thing. No way I can poke around in code to fix ( why I went to WP in first place ) I use Suffusion theme 4.2.8

    I have two sites, one that I just updated everything that doesn’t work:

    And one that I don’t update for just this very reason, the drop downs still work on this site.

    I do have a backup, and push comes to shove, I can copy all my themes and pluggins from the one working WP folder to the other to get everything back….

    Not a coder guy at all

  • The only thing I can guess is that the theme could not be compatible with 3.5. I don’t think that would be the reason but a possibility. Try reinstalling your theme ? Delete it, re upload.

    Suffusion has no known problems with WordPress 3.5.

    @realgolfer: Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Twelve theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    First thank you for your replies! As I said in the op, I tried the pluggin thing by deactivating – no workee. I will try the other suggestions as time permits (have that annoying day job still!)
