Menus are not working, just says pending when I try to add pages to menu

    Menus are not working, just says pending when I try to add pages to new menus I create

    I go to Appearance -> Menus and create a new menu, I select a category or page (both have the same error), click on Add to Menu but instead of the new menu item having the correct name, it says (Pending), and when I click on Save Menu the item disappears.

    I have already tried deactivating all my plugins, going back to the default theme and reinstating and updating WordPress core.

    Do you have any suggestions as to what could be causing this?
    I never had this problem before, I think it might have something to do with the new 3.4.1 WP

    Oh my gosh it just burly started working after I updated twenty ten theme which I am not even using.

    smae problem here

    Ok thanxs ! Me too it has been saved by activating another theme, and then going back to my theme.

    I think it was Bluehost… I had to update both in wp and bluehost.

    Now I have another big problem with my menu. It does not do the pending thing anymore, the menu items show up fine they just don’t link to anything. when you go to the home page and click on any of the links in the primary navigation you will just get a 404 not found page.

    Well… it seems people are having issues uploading photos and with their menus… I was too – i tried re-installing my theme… updating all the plugins .. bla bla.. didn’t work. But when I went into my Bluehost acct, it said I had updates available there.. so I updated with them. And then menus and photo uploads worked again. I’m just assuming though.. not 100% sure that was the issue.

    OK I fixed the Primary menu link by going to Settings -> Permalink and just clicking save changes on the permalink section. I don’t know why but this solved the 404 problem I was getting when I clicked on my primary navigation items.
