    Hi!

I just looked at your site, and you don’t seem to be using the mobile theme anymore; if you want me to take a look, please reactivate it.

Also, it’s worth looking at our support document on the mobile theme:

    https://jetpack.me/support/mobile-theme/

Let me know when you’ve reactivated it!

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for getting back to me. I re-read the support section and tried activating it again and it’s still not working. This next week is a heavy one for my site and I’m anxious about having any conflicts, or downtime. But the following week of the 17th I’ll message you when I reactivate and hopefully we can get it figured out then.

    Thank you!

    Richard,

So I reactivated it and still having issues.
I added iPhone and Android to rejected user agents for page and minify cache for W3. But my home page still shows up as a comment form and when I try to click on my menu pages (music, movies, etc) it defaults to my desktop theme.

Also weird is that if you try to switch to desktop theme it simply goes back to the mobile theme homepage.

    My site: smellslikeinfinitesadness.com

    Thoughts?

    Richard,

I’m having to disable it again as it’s being problematic. Just let me know when is a good time for you to look at it and I’ll reactivate it then.

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hi SLIS,

Maybe you could create an admin account so I can try myself? If that’s ok for you, then please contact me with the login credentials, here:

    Richard,

Just wanted to update you on some findings I’ve had since I emailed you Sunday. I disabled W3 minify as it seemed to be playing havoc with the mobile theme. I think somehow it was preventing the switch to desktop function and was also messing up the dropdown menu.

Any suggestions on how to reset it would be appreciated. I can get the menu to dropdown with it disabled, but I still can’t get my home page to show up. It still just shows as a comment form, so I’m stymied. I look forward to your findings!

Let me know if you have any issues logging in with admin/password and thanks again!

Hi! Try the following. I got this from https://www.troypoint.com/wptouch-and-w3-total-cache-how-to-fix/ which seems currently down, but I was able to find the instructions from Google’s cache.

After installing and enabling W3 Total Cache:

    1. Go to the Page Cache settings under the Performance tab

-Scroll down to the Rejected user agents box and paste the WPtouch default user agents (found below). Save changes

    2. Go to the Minify settings page under the Performance tab

-Scroll down to the Rejected user agents box and enter the WPtouch default user agents. Save changes

    3. Go to the CDN settings page under the Performance tab

-Scroll down to the Rejected user agents box and again enter the WPtouch default user agents. Save Changes

    4. Finally, go to the General Settings page under the Performance tab and click empty all caches.

Your blog should now be configured correctly to work with WPtouch and W3 Total Cache correctly.

Add one user agent per line.

    iphone
    ipod
    ipad
    aspen
    incognito
    webmate
    android
    dream
    cupcake
    froyo
    blackberry9500
    blackberry9520
    blackberry9530
    blackberry9550
    blackberry9800
    webos
    s8000
    bada

Try that and let me know if it helps.

    Hey Richard!

So I did that and it does seem to be working better for minify. Thanks!

So now I just need to figure out how to get the homepage to display properly on jetpack mobile instead of just showing a comment box.

I also notice that on pages where I have vertical adsense banners, they display a bit oddly in mobile: https://smellslikeinfinitesadness.com/lollapalooza-2014-lineup-announced/

I just activated both the jetpack adsense plugin and jetpack featured images plugin, but I don’t notice any changes with the display issues.

Any suggestions you have will be great ??

    Thanks!

    Hi!

I wanted to say that I just came across the ticket you sent in, #1793649, in case we need it again, but I won’t reply to it since we’ve made progress here.

just activated both the jetpack adsense plugin and jetpack featured images plugin,

Those plugins actually aren’t by us, so I can’t comment on what they do or any problems you may have with them, actually.

For the adense banner, I actually got one that is vertical on that page, even after multiple refreshes. I don’t know how those are added to the page, but i guess it’s from that plugin that you mention?

For the homepage, try chaning your Settings -> Reading to “Display latest posts” and see if that helps.

    Thanks Richard!

One question though…if I hit the ‘display latest post’ option, would that default all my customizations in canvas? I was always curious about that do this notification: “You have setup a static front page in Settings > Reading. Please set it to show “Your latest posts” if you want to display the default homepage in Canvas.”

Just wondered if it would save all the settings, or if the slider would be disabled, widgets removed etc before I tried that?

Thanks again for all your help!

    Richard,

Went ahead and gave it a shot. Did work for mobile homepage, but my slider vanished :-(. I wish there was a way to keep that on desktop and still have posts show up on mobile homepage?

    Plugin Contributor Richard Archambault

    (@richardmtl)

    Hi SLIS,

That would require some customization. For example, you could try a conditional function that displays latest posts only if you’re using the Mobile theme:

    https://jetpack.me/2013/06/27/customize-mobile-theme/

You may be able to wrap the Canvas code in a conditional that shows the slider if Jetpack is NOT mboile, for example.

    Richard,

Thanks for the info. I’m a little tech challenged but I shall see if I can give that a go.
Thanks for all your assistance ??
