In chrome my top menu suddenly has the 6th selection option off the menu, and below it on the bottom left.

If I open the site via IE it looks fine, but in chrome, both on my computer, work computer, and phone, it’s off. It wasn’t this way, but suddenly started doing this. It wasn’t after any updates or anything I did, just one day, it was this way.

Any ideas why it would be doing this?

    Thanks all!

  • Hi Siggy,

First of all, for anyone else looking at this issue – I was able to duplicate this on Chrome on my laptop screen. It looks fine via Firefox. Via my phone (Samsung, default browser), it’s fine but not a fully responsive theme in that it’s not mobile, just shrunk somewhat.

Are you sure this has nothing to do with an update? Have you tried changing to the 2014 theme and seeing how your menus look?

It’s possible your theme isn’t playing nice with WordPress 4.0 update OR there may have been an update to your theme that is more comfortable in 4.0 and you haven’t updated yet. Basically, how does everything look in the 2014 theme?

The menu looks okay in the 2014 theme. I know it wasn’t the upgrade to 4.0 though, as I only upgraded to 4.0 about 3 days ago, and the menu was messed up before that.

I bought the template through Godaddy’s partnership with template monster, so perhaps I should pester them about “fixing” their template? What’s weird is it looks fine in every browser but Chrome and Chrome mobile, so I’m not sure what’s up.

Hmmm… maybe best to speak to Template Monster then as hopefully they may be able to help you.

This could be a plugin issue though as well and/or and update in Chrome (rather than an update to your site).

I just took a quick peek at the source for your homepage, and it looks like something is a bit funky on the menu, but it could be nothing. Every menu location uses a class to point to the right location, but “reviews” seems to be using both a class and a URL…

While you’re waiting to hear back from Template Monster try:
    -Rebuilding the menu
-Changing “Contact & Order” to “Contact and Order” or just “Contact” so it looks OK.

Thanks. I’ll contact template monster and see if they can help.

I tried both rebuilding the menu completely, and changing what “contact” says to see if it’s a sizing issue, and neither works. I can make the 06. menu item just 1 character and it still moves it off the menu bar.

Templatemonster had me change the padding value in the CSS for the menu. Appears fixed but confirmation from someone else on Chrome would be welcomed!

    Looks fine on my end!
