• Hello everyone, I’m new to wordpress and have been finding my way around from the past posts. I have 2 problems with the template I’m working on. 1) My menu sizing was perfect until I changed the link title to Content. I tried to fix it by changing the width: 10em; in #menu. Nothing seems to work now. Does anyone know how to fix this? 2) This might be the first question like this but I can’t find the answer anywhere. Since in wordpress you create the whole template unlike in b2 where you just put the post anywhere. How do you put your links (contents of website) to show up where your posts are. If the posts are in a frame how do I find out the frame name? I don’t know if anyone understands what I mean but if you do could you please help me. Your input is greatly appreciated. Here is the URL to where my wordpress page is https://www.nielegirl.com/wordpress/index.php. Thanks in advance, Jenn

While trying to edit my first post i’m getting “You are not allowed to perform this action”.

chiensavant, I tried both of your suggestions and it didn’t make the left side smaller but now my menu is above my posts and I don’t know how I did that and how to get it back to the level of my posts.
Beel, I would try your suggestions but I can’t understand it. I am new to css and php so I would need a simpler explanation. Thank you.

To avoid further frustration I should mention that my server does not seem to be responding now either. Gremlins have struck. Hopefully it will be up in a minute.

She might have X ‘ed out.

Beel, Thank you soo much!!! That helped make the menu smaller and I pushed it more to the left so it would look better. I actually understood what you meant too in your explaination!
Although my posts is still lower than my menu. I don’t know what i did to make it lower but could someone please help me lift it up to the level of my menu or help point out what I might have done wrong? Thanks..

Woohoo yes! Thank you for your help. I just changed it from 13em to 3em (for anyone who gets caught in a similar situation). It worked. Thanks again for all your help and the others who have tried to help me ??

I edited above so you may have missed my point. You have set the menu “absolutely” so to align vertically with the menu, you should use 50px – otherwise it may not align depending on the setting of the browser text size.

Oh okay. I edited it and it still looks fine on my side. Thank you again for your help.

Yep, now when I vary the text size, it stays aligned with the menu.
