Menu resets/changes after saving post

    Every time I save a page or a post, my main menu resets to some kind of default. Yet, it seems to display random items (1-3). I have to manually change the menu each time, add and change the order of the pages.

    I have tried to add an extra menu and I’ve deleted all menus. Problem keeps happening… It started on theme Elara, then I switched themes to test if the problem originated there. Now on OceanWP, it’s still there.

    WP 5.4.1

    It already happened before I had W3 Total Cache installed.

    Any ideas are welcome!

  • Hi @blaat ,

    Please check if this is a plugin conflict. Maybe some plugin action is triggerred on saving the post or page which is causing this menu disappear or get changed.

    I will suggest to deactivate all the plugins and check if the issue persists.

    Hi @ketanvyawahare,

    That was a simple fix – I disabled all plugins, then the problem didn’t persist. While re-activing all plugins, I couldn’t reproduce the problem any longer. The problem has disappeared with the same plugins activated. Strange, but I’m happy.

    Glad you found it helpful.

    If you again face the same issue, I will suggest that deactivate all the plugins and try the same issue by activating the plugins one by one. One by one means, activate one plugin and try update page/post and see if the menu disappeared.
