Menu problems in Explorer 8

I have some serious problems about menu appearance and padding in Internet explorer 8.
Although everything seems to be fine in chrome and in firefox, in explorer the menu isn’t affected by the css (format and padding). Moreover, the logo overlaps the newsletter plugin.
