Menu Problems

  • Hi,
    I am trying to add a “promotions” page to our website.
    I created the page, added some content to it.
    I tried to add it as a subitem of the “Events” item in our main menu.
    When I drag it slightly to th eright it indents, but once I save it, it goes back to being a menu item, not a subitem.
    I have tried for a hour to understand what I am doing wrong, t=it shoudl not be this hard to edit. I thought that this is what wordpress is all about, ease of use.
    The page is a child of events page.
    Also on the events page there is a sub menu that does not have the “promotions” page on it. I suspect once the promotions item becomes I sub item it will play nice.
    HELP, I am at wits end

    I am using “The Retailer” e-commerce theme.
    While creating menus or editing the old menus, I can’t find some of the options in Pages section of the panel, though I have searched in All.
    Few those options are “Shop” or “My account” etc.

    Also, there was one default menu in theme, namely “My account navigation”, but while viewing the site when user clicks on “My Account” menu it shows an error 404 every time.

    I have tried activating de-activating the plugins and theme but its not working.

    Please look into this and suggest me some solution asap.

    I think we have given up on this thread.

    Sorry this fell through the cracks – lots going on here – if the menus don’t work on a default theme with no plugins, the next step is:

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    I do not have the original files, I would have to download them from the server and then upload them again ???
    I don’t think the link relates to me as I am on hostpapa.
    what shoudl I do here, download everything then wipe out the site and start again ?

    Yes, you can simply download a new copy of WordPress right here:

    Then you’ll need to do the upload via FTP – make sure you don’t delete the wp-content folder.

    Try that first. The other fix could well apply – it’s about JavaScript in general, not just in that particular usage.

    well, for fun i created a new website, just default wordpress.
    created 2 pages
    Added these to the menu. and I was NOT able to create a sub menu under one of the pages.
    I used thewordpress that was built into hostpapa.
    Perhaps it’s corrupt ???

    the “Fix” concatenate strings did not work.
    I dumped the session and started again
    I think I might reboot my compy next
    After that maybe boot it into the lugger.

    LOL – gosh that IS odd. Maybe kicking it a few times??

    i can’t create the database on the remote server.
    If anyone is handy that way, please help
