• In my ServerPress local Installs, the Menu Dashboard isn’t showing any of the menu’s it allows me to create so I can add items to them. The menu’s do get created as any chosen theme’s customizer navigation options displays them for selection.

I can’t add menu items to any menu created within Menu Dashboard because the existing menus do not show up there. There are two “create menu” buttons, no save menu button. In two other installs, after creation, the “edit menu below or create new menu” shows on the page but the menu to edit is not displayed “below”.

So, all items to add to the menu found within the Customizer Nav section, are rendered unavailable to any menu created in Menu Dashboard as it doesn’t show existing menus for the selection and adding of items. In other words, I can’t populate the menu from the Menu Dashboard even though all Customizer Dashboard Nav sections know the menu exists…

I deleted the theme I was using, I deactivated all plugins, I used the default 2014 theme and the Menu Dashboard is still not displaying the actual menus. I have installed other themes, cleared cache of course, troubleshooted additional installs, and still no resolution…

I am using serverpress on a local install with wordpress 3.9.1 which was upgraded from the default serverpress wp 3.8.1 install. One other person using serverpress had this same issue. I linked the topic below for you, if useful.

FYI, I just did a fresh local install with serverpress and its default wp 3.8.1 install menu dashboard has the same behavior. I created a menu named test and it does not show up in the menu dashboard but it does show up, again, in 2014’s customizer navigation options. I then upgraded it to 3.9 and it now says to edit my menu below but no menu is displayed in Menu Dashboard for selection…

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I’ve looked into theme functions and I didn’t see anything that looked “out of place”. Also found a www.remarpro.com post with odd menu dashboard behavior but it “fixed itself” and did not exactly match my issue… Thanks in advance for any time and attention…

This may be related to a local install or server setting in serverpress because sites at bluehost and hostgator do not exhibit this behavior…

I am having exactly the same problem and have gone through the same process but still no joy. I just uploaded WordPress to the server and the menus appear to be working ok so this is obviously a local problem. Looks like this an issue to address with the developers of DesktopServer.

I have the same problem using ipage. I have reinstalled the theme over and over again but the same issue

I will appreciate it if someone can look at my site and tell me what I am doing wrong.

unfortunately, my problem was directly related to server press — which is a product i really liked but am unable to use at this time even though i purchased the pro membership there. I wish i could be of more help to you. i do know that in the case of myself and chris duffy above it was a local permissions problem on our machines that server press has not resolved to my knowledge — if installing on a shared hosting account etc online — the problem goes away —
