Newbie. I’ve set the pages to their appropriate parents but the menu is displaying all the pages without the pull-down. I went back and deleted the menu, created it again, and added all the pages but still don’t get the pulldown.

Am I missing something? The theme I’m using only allows one menu and I’ve specified it in the appropriate location.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks

    Tom

  • perhaps the theme you are using doesnt have drop down menu’s styled/accommodated for..

could you link to the site please

Many themes don’t includes nav subpages by default. Often you have to use a custom menu.

If your theme does not include custom menus you can add it as a function.

Thanks both of you. I added the site to my profile. Keep in mind this is just for learning WP. Soon I’ll install WP on the production host I use for sites.

I got the pulldown to work although I’m not sure how. It may have something to do with how I added pages to the menu. The list of pages displayed on the menu page is not a complete list until you “display all”. The first time I populated the menu I simple did a “select all” which, I assume, meant not all pages were selected since not all were displayed.

I started from scratch by deleting the custom menu, created a new one, made sure all pages were displayed, and then did the select all.

    Regardless, the dropdowns work.

As a newbie, I’m still working my way through the dashboard mechanics, bouncing back and forth to “help”. The theme I selected to learn on is more than likely not going to be the one I settle on.

Thanks for taking the time to post.
