• Help please….I have my site set up and it looks great, however I cannot get my navigation menu to link to the sections on my page. It worked at 1st and now it doesn’t and I really have tried so hard to fix it and learn how to but I am stuck now. I’m sure it’s something so simple but I am a complete beginner, please take pity on me? My site is https://www.underthestars.ie

  • Looks like maybe your Permalink settings have been changed. Your gallery link for your menu is pointing to #gallery but the id for the gallery is to an id of pgc-2040-6-0.

The articles where probable written when the permalink was set to default and the menu when the permalink link was set to post name. You can either change the permalink menu setting to default or you can try recreating the post under the new permalink options.

    Hey there marianneb3838,

    Hope you’re well today ??

The way anchors work is that you need to setup links to link to anchors properly as you did (your menu links are good) but what you didn’t do is set those IDs to elements those links are going to link to.

So for example if you want your AboutMe menu item to link to about me section that H3 has to have “aboutme” as its ID if that makes sense.

    Hope this helps ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan

Hey guys, I appreciate your replies but I am still clueless. I have tried putting anchor links into the text and then in the menu structure but I don’t even know if I’m doing that correctly and I cannot find a tutorial to fix my problem …. I am starting to feel really stupid at this stage! I found a site and it was telling me to add a row, I have no clue sorry ??

    Hey again marianneb3838,

I’m not sure how can I explain this better, the text that you’re linking to doesn’t have the ID that you’ve added in your navigation, please see screenshot https://screencast.com/t/Sonb4yXZnZD.

You need to edit HTML (use text editor in your home page in WP admin) and add an ID to that element.

    Please see the following:

    Hey yogesh.kanoi,
