    I’ve a bunch a links to a bunch of clients, but I’d rather have them opened in a new tab so I won’t lose my visitors, there is no option for this however, I think this could be done by adding an extra select input, giving the anchor elements the target="blank" attribute. I think a lot of users would benefit from it.

    WordPress is able to do this for you. Click on “Insert/edit link” (looks like a piece of chain.
    A dialogue will pop open, enter the relevant URL and Description text.
    Beneath this is a tickbox called “Open link in a new window/tab”, select this and WordPress will open these links on a new window/tab for you when published.
