menu links to external pages

I am setting up a number of wordpress websites that will be interlinked. So I need to be able to add menu items that link to something external to wordpress. How do you do this ? I have come across many people askinmg how to as well with little information given, and no I’m not really in the mood for playing with the website code, that was the point of a CMS in the first place.

I’ve tried looking for a plug in to do the job but again I find a lot of information about other stuff not exactly what I want
