• There’s a bizarre bug happening and it’s not theme related as I’ve tried switched themes incase. When I go to the appearance > menus and add an item to the menu (using the pages > most recent section) it is added to the menu as normal as the bottom. However when I click on save menu the item becomes a custom link which isn’t clickable and I can’t add the url in as a workaround. Nothing has changed within the site recently as far as I know, I’ve updated to the latest WP version just incase and it doesn’t work still, have also tried deactivating all plugins.

    Anyone else had this problem?

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    hi again
just reuploaded everything and still no joy.
also noticed that where you check the checkbox about using a primary menu or top level etc. (depends on theme) … this is always unchecked and if i try and check it and save the menu it won’t stay checked.
    Any more ideas most welcome!

When did you last run a repair on your database tables?

hmm i’m not sure. i don’t look after the site normally, they’ve just drafted me in! what’s the best way to do this?

You would need to ask the site’s host for assistance accessing Phpmyadmin or another database management tool.

should be able to access phpmyadmin. do i just select the whole lot and click repair? sorry not done before so probably basic question!

do i just select the whole lot and click repair?

Personally, I would just repair one table at a time.
